Google will now include lead form extensions to YouTube Ads. This will allow advertisers to capture leads while people watch videos. The lead form extensions were first introduced by Google last year and were available for Search Campaigns. The extensions essentially allow advertisers to append a lead form to ads that appear in the search results. This feature will now be available for YouTube and Discover as well. This form appears after the users have expressed interest in the ad by clicking on it. The ad expands into a conversion form which the users can fill out and submit. The good part is that users do not have to leave the screen they are on.
If the user is logged in using a Google account, then the lead forms can be automatically filled and submitted within a few clicks. This is a great way for businesses to gain leads and for people it is very convenient to share information as they search, discover and watch relevant content. This is also a seamless and efficient way to find high quality leads.
For Search Ads, the lead forms can be added to existing campaigns in the form of extensions. In case of video campaigns however, the lead forms are added during the campaign creation process. Well, if not, they can be added later from the campaign settings menu. So, while advertisers create video campaigns, they can choose which types of leads they want to capture. Here are a few options:
Higher intent: Reach people more likely to be interested in the product.
More volume: Reach maximum amount of people.
Advertisers can select the type of information they wish to gather from users such as Name, Phone number, Email, City, Zip code, State, Country and Company they work for etc. In addition to this standard set of questions, there are specific questions that you can add that are related to the home buyers, industry or for job hunters etc. Advertisers can also choose to write their own custom questions to ask on the lead form. When the leads are captured, they can be downloaded as a CSV file. It is only possible to download leads from the last 30 days.
Google also said that later this year, they will roll out lead forms for display ads as well. This means that advertisers will be able to collect leads from nearly every corner of the web.
A survey of American shoppers finds they appreciate having different ways to communicate with businesses. Consumers too prefer to use more varied methods to communicate with businesses.
